We have tried other groups long enough to know what we don’t like. We aim to improve the experience for all, and listen closely to our player’s feedback. We hope we hit it out of the park for you as well, but if not, please let us know.

Your proceeds, sometimes donation based, help us pay for the field and continue to provide fun softball for you. If we’re able to get a sponsorship for this, then we will reduce or even make the game free for you. To keep it fun for everyone, we will have to limit it to the first 30 people that RSVP and pay.

We would love the opportunity to work with you and your business, or whom you know.  We have space to display your ad on our page, and would love to offer our players something that you can provide.  We are community based people, and love to work with the community. Currently we offer Mondays in Lemon Grove, under the lights. We’re at the mercy of the facilities we have chosen, and what days they have available.  Since we’re the newcomers, we usually get whatever days are left over, but as we add more and more games, we hope to change this.  From time to time we run a poll to see what day(s) are best for the group.  This is sometimes on WhatsApp or on Google Forms, so stay tuned for that.

When we collect money online, we have to pay a processing fee.  It doesn’t seem fair to only be able to refund part of your money back to you, what you paid, minus the processing fee.  We would rather credit you for a future game of ours, so you get the full amount.  If you must get your money back, we can do that, minus those fees.  Please contact us [email protected]

In certain circumstances, we have a handful of players come out that skip the RSVP system, for a number of reasons.  We encourage all of our players to RSVP, but this will be the case sometimes.  Please contact us first if you are thinking of canceling due the appearance of low turnout.  This year, November 2024 and December 2024 we have consistently good turnout.

We don’t advise it.  Some fields may not allow dogs at all, but currently we’re not aware of that restriction.

At Lemon Grove Academy Middle School, we are not allowed to take the field before 6 pm, so the gate is usually not unlocked until this time.  This also applies to the lights. The lights on the field will not be turned on until 6pm, and maybe a few minutes after that.

Unfortunately the fields have very strict rules against this, and for the most part, if not every time, alcoholic beverages are not allowed.  If you drink, you could jeopardize our ability to host softball events in the future.

At Lemon Grove Academy Middle (LGAM) we have access to a porta pottie that is only shared with 2 other groups.  It is also cleaned regularly. Part of your fee to play goes to cleaning the porta pottie.

At Lemon Grove Academy Middle (LGAM), this is not uncommon.  The field is usually completely cleared by 6pm, so don’t let that discourage you.  You can still warm up while Flag Football is vacating the field, for example.

Yes, I think this is a good idea.  We play right during dinner time, so why not.  There is a Little Cesars nearby, as well as a Popeyes.

Absolutely!  All are welcome.  At Lemon Grove Academy Middle (LGAM) there is a small set of bleachers. We also suggest bringing your own chairs.  It’s usually pretty cold when we play, so we also suggest something warm to wear.

If they are under 18, you must sign a waiver for them, and authorize them to play.  Softball, despite its name, is very dangerous.  Adults have priority to play, so when we are at full capacity, they will not be able to play. Please ask about this waiver before they enter the field.

To keep the games affordable and fun, we do not have umpires.  We offer a fun environment, in that each team can peacefully call the play as they see it.  We try our best to keep the peace with this method.  Sometimes we will designate the team catcher as the foul ball caller.
